We are using DNN masters sitemap to generate our clients sitemaps and linking with google webmaster tools. Do we also need to submit the DNN sitemap located under the site settings menu as well? Any assistance appreciated.

No, you don't need to submit again using core dnn sitemap.
BTW - we are close to releasing version 4.0 of the Sitemap module with support for Catalook.

So if DNNMaster site map is used, there is not need to generate the basic DNN site map URL under site settings is that correct?

But if so, The site map in Webmaster Tools seems to be integrating with the basic DNN site map URL and therefore would mean that the best would be too:

1. Generate DNN Master Sitemap
2. Generate Basic DNN Site Map under site settings.
3. Link Google Webmaster Tools site map to Basic DNN Site Map URL.

Is that correct as we do verify all sites in google webmaster tools and should also link the site maps isn't that correct?

The best would be to go into the sitemap options, down to Google Sitemap, generate Google Sitemap and link webmaster tools to it.
It gives you much better control over your submission.
